Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Warsaw

Morning: Upon arrival at Warsaw Okęcie Airport, the Cracovia Reisen tour guide is on hand to assist the group. Transfer by coach to the hotel.
After a short break, lunch at a restaurant in the Old Town.
Afternoon: In the afternoon, the first city tour begins with a walk through Warsaw’s Old Town, carefully restored after the destruction of the Second World War. Highlights include the Market Square, the cathedral, and Castle Square. This is followed by a coach tour to key sights including Krasiński Square with the Warsaw Uprising Monument, Krakowskie Przedmieście, the Presidential Palace, Nowy Świat Street, the Parliament building, and royal Łazienki Park.
Evening: Dinner.

Day 2: Royal Castle, Warsaw Ghetto

Morning: After breakfast, a guided tour of the magnificently reconstructed Royal Castle reveals the rich history of the former royal residence. Splendid interiors, outstanding works of art, and original furnishings returned after the Second World War bear witness to its remarkable restoration and revival.
Lunch at a restaurant in the Old Town.
Afternoon: The afternoon is dedicated to the history of the former Jewish Ghetto, where around 450,000 Jews were confined. The tour includes the Ghetto Heroes Monument, the Umschlagplatz, and other important memorials, commemorating the 1943 Ghetto Uprising and the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, which made Warsaw a lasting symbol of resistance against oppression and genocide.
Following a coffee break, the programme then offers the opportunity to meet with experts. Choose between a discussion on Poland’s current political landscape with a member of parliament or a conversation with a historian.
Evening: Return to the hotel. Dinner.
Optional: depending on the concert programme, an optional visit to the Philharmonic may be arranged.

Day 3: Discovering Warsaw’s History of Resistance

Morning: The day begins with a visit to Warsaw’s history of resistance against Nazi and communist oppression. The Warsaw Uprising Museum offers a profound insight into the heroic events of the final phase of the Second World War. Opened on the 60^th anniversary of the uprising, this modern multimedia museum vividly presents the story of the city and its courageous inhabitants. Lunch.
Afternoon: Socialist Heritage and Cultural Highlights
In the afternoon, the focus turns to Warsaw’s socialist-era architectural heritage. The imposing Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Poland, dominates the city skyline and remains a powerful symbol of the country’s complex history. From its observation deck, a spectacular panoramic view of the capital unfolds.
Afterwards, the Chopin Museum in the Ostrogski Palace awaits with an exclusive guided tour highlighting the unique connection between Chopin’s music and Polish culture.
Evening: The day concludes with dinner, followed by an exquisite Chopin piano concert in one of the historic rooms of the Old Town. A glass of sparkling wine provides the perfect finishing touch to this special experience.

Day 4: Wilanów Palace & Return Journey

Morning: The final morning in Warsaw offers a choice between leisure time or an optional excursion to Wilanów Palace. This magnificent Baroque residence, often called the Polish Versailles, is located at the southern end of the Royal Route. A guided tour of the splendid interiors and gardens reveals the palace’s rich history.
Lunch in the renowned palace restaurant, where culinary specialities are served in a stylish setting.
Afternoon: Transfer to the airport & return journey.
