The summer residence of King John III Sobieski is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Poland. Its richly decorated yet harmonious façade immediately attracts attention. A visit to Wilanów includes the formal French garden, an extensive collection of Polish portraits and rooms preserving features from the reigns of John III Sobieski and Augustus II the Strong.
Nearby, the Poster Museum offers a different cultural experience. The modern residential district of Wilanów, home to part of Warsaw's growing middle class, has become a symbol of social change in post-communist Poland. A walk through the area also leads to the Temple of Divine Providence, consecrated in 2016, together with the Museum of John Paul II and the Pantheon of Great Poles.
