In the heart of Wroclaw lies a unique area of the Old Town bounded by Kazimierza Wielkiego, św. Antoniego, Pawła Włodkowica and św. Mikołaja streets. It has been known by its present name since 1995, following an initiative supported jointly by Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant clergy and the Jewish community member Jerzy Kichler.
Although it is not formally a separate administrative district, the area is distinguished by exceptional cultural and religious diversity. Four important places of worship stand no more than 300 metres apart:
These four communities do more than coexist. They actively promote interfaith dialogue through joint charitable initiatives, educational activities for children and ecumenical services. Their cooperation strengthens understanding and respect for religious and cultural diversity and makes the district an essential destination for visitors seeking to understand the character of the city.
