The most famous Pole of the 20th century remained closely connected throughout his entire life with Krakow and its surroundings. Our tour takes us to places that shaped his youth, his life as a priest and bishop, and that remained of great importance to him even during his pilgrimages to Poland.
The main goal of this journey is to introduce guests to the spiritual and religious culture of Poland.

First, we visit Wadowice, the Pope’s birthplace, where we will see the exhibition in his parents’ house as well as the church in which he was baptized. We then continue to the nearby pilgrimage site of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, the sanctuary of the Passion of Christ and the Mother Mary, which the Pope frequently visited in his youth. Kalwaria is a unique landscape-architectural complex and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Back in Krakow, we visit the district of Łagiewniki, where Karol Wojtyła worked as an ordinary laborer during the Second World War and to which he returned years later as an apostle of the Holy See to canonize Sister Faustyna and consecrate the impressive Basilica of Divine Mercy. After visiting the basilica, we drive to the city center. On the way, we see the house whose basement was home to Karol Wojtyła during his student years. We then take a short walk through the Old Town and visit the Bishop’s Palace, where the future Pope lived for many years while carrying out his episcopal duties, as well as his former private apartment. Our tour ends at Wawel Cathedral – the coronation and burial site of the Polish kings, where Karol Wojtyła worked for a long time before being elected Pope in 1979.
