St Joseph’s Church stands picturesquely on the market square of Podgórze, a charming district incorporated into Krakow at the beginning of the twentieth century. Although Podgórze is now part of the city centre, it remains a peaceful area away from the usual tourist crowds and offers an authentic experience. Concert audiences at St Joseph’s Church therefore consist largely of local residents.
The church itself was built at the beginning of the twentieth century and is distinguished by its striking Neo-Gothic architecture, delicate details and historic elegance. Its excellent acoustics make every musical performance a memorable experience. A visit offers both cultural enrichment and a glimpse of Krakow’s living history.
