Our tip: Steven Spielberg’s world-famous film “Schindler’s List” is largely based on true events and was filmed at original locations in Krakow. Watching the film together before visiting Kazimierz and Podgórze provides excellent preparation for the journey.
Programme: Travel from the city centre by bus or tram and take a guided walk through Nowa Huta, including a visit to the distinctive Lord’s Ark Church.
Themes: Experience modern Polish history at first hand and learn about communism, the important role of the Catholic Church in Poland and everyday life today.
Nowa Huta can be reached by tram in around 30 minutes. For a more relaxed visit, however, we recommend hiring a coach.
Our tip: Combine the Nowa Huta excursion with a visit to the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine to make efficient use of the coach and reduce costs.
