St Mary’s Basilica is one of Krakow’s most impressive and beautiful churches. Its distinctive Gothic brick towers dominate the cityscape and rise majestically above the Main Market Square, forming one of Krakow’s most recognisable landmarks. Inside is its greatest artistic treasure: the magnificent high altar created by the renowned sculptor Veit Stoss.
Although the basilica is an important spiritual and cultural site, concerts are held here only occasionally, usually after the final Mass at around 7:30 p.m. Rehearsals beforehand are not possible, but the special atmosphere after the service makes every musical performance a unique experience.
