Jewish history has deep roots in Poland. For centuries the country was home to one of the world's largest Jewish communities, and before the Second World War Warsaw had the second-largest Jewish population after New York. This thousand-year history is presented at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Located in the heart of the former Warsaw Ghetto, the museum combines striking contemporary architecture with an extensive multimedia exhibition.
