Dunajec Rafting and the Pieniny Mountains

Only around 90 kilometres south of Krakow, on the way to Zakopane, the charming village of Dębno is home to one of Poland’s oldest wooden churches, a true gem of historic architecture. Continuing towards Zakopane, the impressive Pieniny Mountains come into view. Their greatest attraction is undoubtedly the spectacular Dunajec Gorge, which can be explored on an unforgettable rafting trip from May to September. Traditional rafts carry groups of ten people from the picturesque village of Sromowce to Szczawnica, passing between distinctive cliffs and through gently flowing rapids. Although the water may appear wild, the route is safely navigable, making the approximately two-hour journey an exciting experience with spectacular views of the gorge.

The Spiš and Pieniny region also offers an extensive network of hiking trails leading past the historic castles of Niedzica and Czorsztyn. Nature, history and adventure combine here to create an inspiring journey of discovery.
