It begins at majestic St Mary’s Church, one of the world’s largest Gothic churches. From there, the route passes magnificent town houses such as the Uphagen House, the old waterfront with its characteristic granaries and cranes, the iconic Crane Gate, the town hall and the Artus Court, once a centre of trade and a meeting place for merchants.
