Experience a moving guided tour of Gdansk devoted to the history of Solidarność. The city was the birthplace of the first major movement to challenge communist rule in Poland and became the setting for a turning point that ultimately helped bring about the collapse of the Eastern Bloc.
The tour includes important locations such as the “Roads to Freedom” exhibition, which explores the origins and development of the Solidarność movement. Visit St Bridget’s Church, a symbolic refuge for freedom activists during martial law, and Solidarność Square outside the Gdansk Shipyard gate, where the monument commemorates the victims of the tragic events of 1970. Another highlight is the European Solidarity Centre and its fascinating exhibition documenting the strikes of August 1980 and the imposition of martial law in 1981.
