Anonymous Pedestrians Monument

Begin your walk through Wroclaw at the fascinating junction of Świdnicka Street and Piłsudskiego Street, where you will find perhaps the city’s most creative monument: the Anonymous Pedestrians Monument. This striking work by Jerzy Kalina, officially unveiled in 2005, consists of a life-sized group of bronze figures positioned on both sides of Świdnicka Street. The figures on one side appear gradually to disappear into the pavement, while those on the opposite side emerge from the ground. Regarded as one of the world’s most original and memorable monuments, it invites reflection on everyday life, anonymity and disappearing into the crowd.
